Hi all, the time has come to replace the daily runner.
Hours of searching classified ads and trawling through reviews on You Tube has led me to one of Honda's used CRV Hybrids.
It ticks all the boxes for life in the retirement lane with practicality for growing grandchildren and reasonable reliability rating. Having previously run an Accord without any problems for a number of years I would recommend Honda to anyone.
So enquiries at 'local' dealers, a bit of negotiation on price and trade in and I seem to have reached an agreeable deal, if that is possible for anyone other than the salesman!
Hopefully Honda Forum members can offer the definitive answer to a post purchase question that is clouded in mystery at Dealership level. Namely the matter of a Service Plan.
I enquired whether there was a current plan on the vehicle, as I was aware that some buyers of new cars are able to purchase a 5 Year Plan, which I have been advised is transferable as it registered to the vehicle.
The salesman replied that there was no service plan but they would be able to quote for a Tailored Service Plan for up to 4 years.
Maybe worthwhile thought I to maintain such an investment. However when checking the vehicle details on the Honda website it would appear that there is a Service Plan in place from the original purchase with over 2 years left to run.
So before the transfer window closes the question is Plan or No Plan and has my faith in Honda been dented?
Service Plan
Hi,
I would suggest going back to the dealer, ask to speak to the sales manager or better still the general manager/dealer principal, don't let the salesman fob you off. Take a screenshot or print off the info from the Honda website.
Have a forceful but polite chat i.e. don't start shouting. Try and push for a better deal since the salesman cockup.
Good hunting.

Am preparing to change cars, so dug out my documents today. My HRV came with 5 year warranty and a 5 year service plan, provided I purchased it via PCP and made at least six of the monthly payments.
Following is from the service plan documentation.

A good salesman will prepare the transfer paperwork for the new owner to sign when purchasing the vehicle.
