Morning all......I am going to have a towbar fitted. A couple of Honda dealers have told me that fitting a fixed neck does not affect the reversing sensors. Also, if I don't get it fitted by a Honda dealer it could affect my warranty due to wiring compliance? Honda dealers only sell a swan neck which I don't think is compatible with my bike carrier. I could be stuck!
Anyone gone through this?
Cheers

The official Honda HR-V towbars are listed by Cox Motor Parts at https://www.coxmotorparts.co.uk/honda/honda-hr-v/2015-hr-v/2015-hr-v-tow-bars/ . All very expensive!
I think that Honda / dealer can only evade warranty liabilities if it's something directly related to fitting of a 3rd party towbar, such as electrical problems on the shared circuits.

I had this problem, my carrier would not fit the towbar, (bummer) but also that the 3rd party bars needed to "trim" some of the chassis to fit their bars (WTF !! ) deciding to not have my new car possibly wreaked by 3rd party fitter I opted for a Honda fitted setup (yes a bit pricier but without any risk to warranty) I then opted for a Thule bike carrier (9502) which fits the towbar perfectly (looks great too) and the original carrier I adjusted to fit the caravan A frame for when I'm towing.
No problems with the sensors either.
Hope this helps

Martin Lb, could I just check that your towbar fitted by Honda is a Swan neck? Thanks.
Hi, Yes it's a detachable swan neck one (although mine stays on, keeps cars away in the car park) The Thule carrier is really secure.

Martin...cheers for the towbar feedback. Had a fixed swan neck fitted by Honda - and Thule bike rack fits fine. Cheers. Mine is also white and I'm in Hampshire!

HiddenValley As an extra point, because I tow a caravan (and Honda wiring loom has not got a dedicated 12 volt supply) I added one to the tow socket and routed it behind the RH trim up to the utility socket, so I can just plug it in when the caravan in hooked up. Socket is rated at 12.5 amps max (fused at 20A) but the power draw is only around 6 - 8 so well within the limits.
