In process of buying new Honda hrv.
Simple question. Should it come with any mats?
The garage is saying no, but without any the floor looks horrible. Yes I know they will try to sell me daft expensive ones.
Like to know other people's experiences.

I have always asked for mats to be thrown in and they have always done it plus some other extras.

Car mats are definitely an optional (cost) extra. When I ordered my HR-V I asked them to include a boot tray to be thrown in which they seemed happy enough to do. Though I now wish I'd asked for the car mats instead.

Getting your salesperson to throw in items can depend on any discount you got on the vehicle which may eat into their commission. If you got a really good deal on your vehicle, it may be worth taking the hit on boot and floor mats. Then again if you don't ask, you don't get.

When I purchased my Civic back in 2003 they refused to throw in the carpet mats as part of the deal, however, when I collected the vehicle they had fitted a complete set of mud flaps which cost more than the carpet mats!

I ask for the mats (and some touch-up paint) to be included before haggling over the price starts on the assumption that they are priced at cost. Perhaps I'd get a lower price without these extras being included but buying them afterwards is likely to increase the total cost.

Can somebody please help me. My new HRV elegance arrived today, I didn't get car mats with it but bought my own.

The car doesn't have any clips on the floor for mats! Just a weird shadow where clips should be. Is this normal or did they forget to install the clips?I've put mats in the car but they have nothing to clip into

Thanks

The MkII HR-V requires Carpet Mat Clips to fit the OEM Driver and Passenger mats.

Could not find a set of CMC in the MkIII HR-V section, however, the ones in the MkII state they are for the HR-V 2015 onwards, so possibly may fit the MkIII?

They look similar to the ones that come with the MkIII Elegance Carpet Mat set:

Thanks for the advice, I had agreed a price at a very good discount. When I was shown the car for the first time the driver's side looked bare.
Spoke to salesman who said we've agreed a price but he would see what he could do. He seemed doubtful. I emailed him from home.
Short story, he phoned me this morning with the good news.

It's much cheaper to buy from independent suppliers, and much better quality and choice. There are a few on the internet, just google and you'll find them
