Bought this -02 2L petrol auto Accord for £995. Seller said needed a new post-cat O2 sensor. Drives absolutely fine, just a petrolly smell from the exhaust. Failed MOT yesterday. Mechanic said both pre and post-cat O2 sensors look relatively new, so cat must be the issue, and needs replacing. Also needs some welding:

“Repair immediately (major defects)
Exhaust carbon monoxide content after 2nd fast idle exceeds default limits
Suspension component mounting prescribed area excessively corroded significantly reducing structural strength Nearside Front Lower

Repair as soon as possible (minor defects)
Track rod end ball joint dust cover damaged or deteriorated, but preventing the ingress of dirt Nearside Front Inner
Suspension component ball joint dust cover severely deteriorated Nearside Front Upper
Suspension component ball joint dust cover severely deteriorated Offside Front Upper

Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories)
Fuel pipe/s corroded
Brake pad(s) wearing thin Nearside Front
Brake pad(s) wearing thin Offside Front
Brake disc worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened Nearside Rear
Brake disc worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened Offside Rear
Subframe mounting prescribed area is corroded but not considered excessive Rear

Is this car financially worth repairing? I’ve had it about a month, if that.
