Ive just ordered the Elegance model too having previously had two civics. Same dealer previously throw in mats with the new cars but now says that they dont offer free mats anymore. found some on car mats.co.uk who have them with or without clips. having asked the dealer which ones i should get he said i'll need the ones without clips

Thisis not true, you can by the clips on ebay ( https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/166717093182 ... 9_EALw_wcB),
and they are easy to fit.
There are marks on the under carpet where to cut, and the clips fit through and clip together.

You can also get universal types of clips too.

The trick is to form a relationship with the sales MANAGER.
When I bought my eHR-V He gave me full set of mats, a Honda jacket (retail £79) a bag of small goodies and a beautiful bunch of flowers for SWMBO and a FULL tank! When did anybody last get a full tank? Not for years I bet.
He also gave ma a cracking deal on the Karoq that I P/Xd

I have bought my cars from the same dealership and I got the identical treatment (less the jacket) on both occasions that I purchased a new car, plus complementary 5 years of servicing.

When I P/Xd the HR-V for a CR-V (demo) I told the S/M I would only buy it if he got the 'beep-beep' pathetic Honda horn replace with 'proper' horns at no cost. He did!
Strangely enough the e:HEV HR-V had decent horns fitted from launch I could never understand why a nearly £40k e:HEV CR-V had the revolting, weak little 'beep-beeps'.
