Have changed my HRV today, have to say it’s been a brilliant car and has been fault free for nearly eight years and 118500km. Has only had regular servicing, tyres and one set of front brake pads replaced. Would have liked to stayed with Honda but couldn’t stand the look of the latest model, have gone for a Lexus LBX Hybrid which although a tad smaller is more than big enough for the two of us and the very occasional passenger(s), Hopefully the Lexus will be as good if not better than the Honda.

I had one of the original 1998 3 door HR-Vs, changed for the limited edition 'sell out' of the original CR-V. (cant remember the name. Kensington??)
I changed my e:Hybrid HR-V (because my cra*ppy knee was making it difficult to get in and out, Changed it for e:hybrid CR-V.
None of them gave me any trouble. Not surprising all bought new or 1 year old and sold before high mileage.
Also had 3 Mkll facelift CR-Vs and a Jazz. All faultless. Shame reliability is not as good as it was.

Hey everyone,

I have the 2022 HRV eHEV, Advanced Style.
Can anyone with a similar model confirm if the stalks should be illuminated at night? I’ve noticed that I can’t see them, though can’t recall if they ever were lit, they don’t have glow in the dark either!?

Also Spotify via Apple car play won’t play anything that isn’t already downloaded, and the digital manual fails to update every time I try come what may!

Any help is appreciated! :)

Hi everybody, been reading the posts even though I have not had much input ,however I thought I would put my hat in the ring..
I didn’t change my 2015 diesel se navi for a 2024 c- hr after second thought & a further visit to Toyota.
Today my well cared for H-rv at 47000 miles went for its MOT & passed with no advisory what so ever I’m afraid reading the problem with the 12 v battery on these Hybrids has made me decide that £20 road tax & 70 Mpg no other ice car can bet that so I will continue to poison the atmosphere with my diesel& until I can get a comparable size car with an insurance group that’s not laughable I think I will carry on😂

I have had two HR-Vs, the very first and the latest.
5 CR-Vs including a 22 reg hybrid and a Jazz.
I too have gone to the 'dark' side, although a different one.Kia eNiro, as I was becoming increasingly cheesed off with Honda 'no. help' department which isn't even in the U.K. and their increasing poor reliability.
Though to be fair I have never had any problems with any of my Hondas, but I decided to jump ship before I did!

Hi Colin having read your threads I know you have had many cars so are able to offer a wealth of knowledge. I also have had mane cars & am becoming increasingly concerned of the unreliability of many manufacturers I was considering a Skoda KAROQ but the reliability of the VAG group & customer care has nose dived if you read the vw forums as well what car & which magazines also you tube has several good commentators.
One particular states after 2019 this is the magic year that cars became unreliable owing to increased software & safty features that not many people want the first thing new car owners ask is how do we turn these features off..
So there are many reasons I’m reluctant to change my car at the moment.🤔

Thank you for your kind words!
Amongst my past stable I include Fabia, 3 Yetis Kodiaq (6th one reg in the U.K and three Karoqs
I am a mod on the Karoq forum and see all the tales of grief for that model. All my Skodas were faultless apart from the Kodiaq which had a few niggling software problems and an electric boot lid that had a mind of it's own.
I jumped ship when I saw the reliability of Skoda declining. At one point they were far more reliable than VW (who are still having problems with their software on the ID range.)
I also gather that Audi are having more problems than they used to. So much so, that I wont ever buy another car from the VAG,
I decided to go for an eHEV HR-V brand new as my first venture into (semi) V driving. I loved it and it was faultless, but a bit noisy as Honda saw fit to not put sufficient sound deadening. I P/X'd it purely because my wonky left knee was causing problems getting in and out, so I went for a CR-V eHEV which I loved and was faultless. I loved the power of the 2.0L engine + the electric motor.
Sadly Honda seem to be having a lot of problems with the new Jazz range, including brake failure!!!. I don't know about other models.
I had been toying with the idea of going full EV for some months.
One day I took a chum to the local Kia dealer as he was thinking of going that route.
I saw a dark blue eNiro 2 years old, one lady owner and only 7,800 miles and only £2 k to change. It is a 4 +, top of the range with every available gizmo one could imagine Including 4 heated seats (dog very impressed!) front seats cooled and heated steering wheel + opening sun roof.
So acting on the spur of the moment, not something to which I am prone....... I thought stuff it, why not.
It is the best car that I have owned and I don't care that all the worry mongers have caused the price of s/hand EVs to nose dive (I have lost £10k in a year) I am keeping this one even though it needs it's first MOT in October. I can't remember the last car I had to have MOT'd.
If any of you are thinking of going fully electric....NOw is the time! S/hand EVs are SO cheap due to the idiots that shied away from them because they were scared that are not enough public charge points. If That worries you look at ZAPMAP and see the truth and the 1000s of chargers we now have in the UK.
I can get over 300 miles to the charge in the summer, a bit less in the cold weather and have NEVER had to use a pubic charger. It costs me 4 p per mile for electricity and I scoff at filling stations as I slide silently past them.

Hi Colin once again you have given a good post , & to be honest at doing only 5000 miles per year & having off street parking though no garage I am now thinking of going electric rather then hybrid if I decide to give my beloved Diesel H-rv a retirement.
Looking at servicing costs alone makes a case for EV I don’t do trips of more 200 miles so what with the increasing range of these cars & my decreasing journey lengths I may go to the dark side yet!😱

Hello Neil,
You may have gathered that I am (was) a petrol head now electric head.
I go into every car in great detail before I spend my money.
So I am going to be presumptuous and offer a guide to electric cars.
These are my own views butI am sure others will gainsay a lot of them.

If you are going new or secondhand I would strongly recommend KIA . If new you now have the choice of the Niro EV (that is the new shape-my old shape is the eNiro) or brand new the EV3.
If second hand I would, obviously recommend an eNiro. I went on a long trip the other day, charged it to 100%, which is rare as it is not good for the battery to do that all the time. and I was surprised to see that I got 332mile range!!! (Kia quote 282) But you have to learn a completely different driving style to that which you use on an ICE car, to achieve high mileages per charge.
I have lost a lot of money on my eNiro because of all the people scandalmongering about 'not enough public chargers' RUBBISH. These people have screwed the second hand EV market, but to the advantage of anyone looking to buy!
Look on www.zap-map,com and you will see the country is littered with 1000s of chargers ( a bit less in Scotland & Cornwall, but they will come.)
Judging by what you said about your requirements, I am sure that you, like me, will never use a pubic charger. My Leccy deal has just changed and my driving now costs me FIVE P a mile instead of four, Boo-hoo
You can now pick up a low mileage eNiro for peanuts, a lot still with the remainder of the 7 year warranty.
Below is a selection of both eNiro & Niro EV secondhand.
All garages will deliver cars across the country, some free, some charge. but you have no need to worry about buying from afar. I have bought three cars hundreds of miles away with no problems.

If you have any queries or would just like a chat about EV driving do, please, feel free to send me a PM with your phone number. More than happy to help in any way. I can also advise you which electric cars NOT to buy and why!!
I cannot (personally ) recommend electric driving highly enough. I love it. to the degree that I am having mine serviced and MOTd in October. I can't remember the last time I had an MOT done. I just love my eNIro I am actually going to hang onto it. Almost unheard of!!
Cheers,
Colin.

Hi All
Part exchanged Jazz sport 2018 manual, for HRV 2020 sport CVT, a month ago,so far really pleased
Absolutely shocked with CVT transmission, was skeptical with reviews, but so far brilliant can't feel changes through the box.
Performance is outstanding.
