Hi
My e:Ny1 settings are to charge to 100% at Home and Away, charging current settings set to High and no non-charging schedules set.

I am with Octopus Intelligent Go and use a Myenergi Zappi charger and app. I have solar panels and a Tesla Powerwall battery.

EV is plugged in, battery showing 90%. Myenergi app shows me exporting to the grid and not diverting surplus solar energy to the EV.

Myenergi app says "EV is preventing charging"

Why would the EV prevent charging?

Les

I can't answer for your e:NY1, but........
On My eNiro I can set the charge percentage on the KIa connect app.. Go into your cars settings to see if you can adjust it.
You should NOT charge to 100% on every charge, you will damage the battery especially if you are using fast chargers.
It is recommended to regularly charge to 80% for all EVs. I find this does not suit my usage so I go to 90%. I NEVER use pubic charges and only charge to 100% if I am going on a long journey. Using my 7.2Kw home charger on Octopus standard tariff. Locked in to my Existing Shell Energy tariff at 19.85p per Kwh.
Perhaps you car agrees with me and is trying to protect itself from battery abuse!! :o

Hi, I am having the exact same problem with my ny1 which I purchased 2 weeks ago, it's a year old. Octopus app creates a schedule which doesn't activate. Myenergi app states EV is preventing charging. I am ok charging at a public charger and also by charging immediately from the Honda app. However, if I set a timer in the Honda app to charge overnight, it doesn't charge.
I never had a problem with my previous leaf. The zappi was installed January 22.
Octopus have not responded.
Did you resolve your problem? If so, how.

Sorry, but are EV vehicles really worth all the the complications that go with them?

Having spoken to octopus, their suggestion was that it was a setting on the Honda or the Honda app that was preventing it connecting with their smart scheduling as I had no problem with commercial chargers or simply immediate charging at home. I went through all settings to ensure there were no schedules set on the car or app and all worked ok afterwards according to the octopus smart schedule.
In my opinion, EVs are definitely worth it for my personal circumstances. 6000 miles for around £150.00 including quite a few fast charges on long journeys/holiday trips. I wouldn't return to ice cars but appreciate iEVs don't suit everybody's needs.

Still having problems with ' EV is preventing charging '. Honda UK have not responded to requests for help. Definitely a fault with Honda as previous leaf worked perfectly under same conditions. Car going into dealership next week. Will consider returning car as not suitable for purpose of they/Honda UK cannot fix.
